Universal Coatings UK Ltd operates from a modern, purpose-built workshop designed to undertake projects ranging from small architectural components to large structural steel assemblies and heritage cast iron restorations.

Our facility enables us to deliver specialist surface preparation, protective coating application, fabrication and restoration services in a controlled environment, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency and health & safety.

Workshop Capacity

Our workshop is configured to handle a wide range of project sizes with dedicated work areas for each stage of the restoration and coating process.

• Abrasive Blasting Bay: 14m × 4.5m

• Preparation Bay: 6m × 6m

• Coating Bay 1: 6m × 6m

• Coating Bay 2: 6m × 6m

• Coating Bay 3: 14m × 6m

• Coating Bay 4: 20m × 6m

• Hot Metal Spray Bay: 18m × 6m

These dedicated work zones allow multiple projects to be undertaken simultaneously while maintaining strict quality control and efficient production scheduling.

Heavy Lifting Capability

Our workshop is equipped with an overhead crane capable of lifting up to 20 tonnes, providing the capacity to safely handle large structural steelwork, bridges, heavy cast iron components and bespoke fabrications.

With an internal lifting height of 5.6 metres, we can accommodate oversized components while ensuring safe handling throughout the blasting, coating and restoration process.

Access for Large Components

The workshop has been designed to accept substantial fabrications with:

• Workshop door: 6m wide × 4.8m high

• Maximum vehicle capacity: Up to 25m long and 5.5m wide

For abnormal loads, our experienced team can advise on transport planning, routing and unloading requirements to ensure safe and efficient delivery to our facility.
