Universal Coatings UK Ltd – Real Living Wage Accredited!

Universal Coatings UK is delighted to be able to say we are now officially accredited as part of the ‘Real Living Wage’ scheme.

In April 2016 the government introduced a higher minimum wage for all employees over the age of 25 called the ‘national living wage’. This government wage is not calculated according to what employees and their families need to live on.

The Real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by nearly 6,000 businesses who believe their staff deserve fair pay for a hard day’s work.

Currently, as of August 2020, the government minimum wage is £8.20, while the government national living wage is £8.72, both of these apply to over 25-year olds only. The Real Living Wage is £9.30 across the UK and £10.75 in London, it also applies to every employee aged 18 and older.

As you can see, even looking from a purely financial perspective, it is a clear and massive benefit to all employees working for companies using this scheme, we also believe that it is simply the right thing to do for our staff and shows a willingness to invest in a hardworking and proactive team, that will always be rewarded for their efforts.

As Universal Coatings UK ltd is now Real Living Wage Accredited, we are using this as an opportunity to announce;

· Our commitment to fair pay for all employees

· Ensuring annual pay increases linked directly to the real costs of living
