Case Study - Vale Royal Swing Bridge

Client: Canal and River Trust (Kier)


Contract brief: Condition report and produce WIP. Removal of the bridge, design of strengthening, build and restore. Paint and Install, fit new Oak Timber Deck with ANTI-SLIP and Commission Bridge


All this bridge's elements were restored whilst trying to keep as much of the original material as possible. The design of the new bridges strengthening was carried out within the boundaries of Heritage Rules and Requirements. Along with hot riveting connections to match original design.

All works carried out to Highways Agency Specification and new steel work manufactured and installed to BS1090.
